Blythe eye mechanism patent from 1973

This is a PDF file consisting of patent claimed for Blythe’s eye mechanism. The illustration shows a curious doll at early stage of development, both the doll itself and the mechanic works are very different to what we are used to see.

Wow! This is so cool and fascinating, thank you for sharing. How come it is 1973? Do they not get copyright for a product before they manufacture it?

If you see on the kenner copyright text I believe it says Pat Pending (I don’t know for sure because I don’t have any kenners with original bodies) so they have had yet to receive the patent before the doll manufacturing.

Ooh, interesting! :)
I loved the drawings on this, very different to how Blythe ended up.
